Training at Manchester Firing line

MFL offers a wide array of training for shooters at all levels. Starting from those who have never held a firearm before, to advanced shooters and the Armed Professional. We offer Walk-In Basic Private Instruction with our trained Range Safety Officers at any time, and offer instruction from our Master Firearm Instructor by appointment.

Our instructors and Range Staff adhere to the highest standards of safety while educating our students. Our instructors have a lifetime of experience and training from their backgrounds in Education, Military and Law Enforcement. Instruction is delivered to our customers in a manner that is enjoyable and educational without arrogance or condescension.


If you are new to shooting and are wondering what class to start with, we recommend the MFL Basic Pistol or Personal Protection in the Home class. Both of these classes and the Intro Seminar are offered at least once every month.

Intro to Gun Ownership Seminar

Seminar Description:

This is a free 2 Hour seminar that is open to the public that is offered one day a month. The Seminar covers general knowledge regarding firearm safety, safe and legal transport and storage, MFL Range etiquette, ways to practice and some basics on the laws regarding firearms. Students also have the opportunity to bring in their own firearm if they have questions about its features or operation.

The Seminar will be held at new classroom at the Range on Brown Ave.




MFL Basic Pistol Course

There is 2 hours of live-fire on the range in this class.

Course Description:

This course covers Firearm Safety and the Shooting Fundamentals to get the student safely and comfortably enjoying this sport. We will cover the different types of handguns and their features. Handgun administration will include Loading and unloading as well as and general familiarity with handguns and their operation. We will also cover how to select the best handgun for your specific needs.




MFL Basic Rifle Course

Course Description:

This course covers Firearm Safety and the Shooting Fundamentals to get the student safely and comfortably enjoying this sport. We will cover the different types of rifles and their features. Rifle administration will include Loading and unloading as well as and general familiarity with rifles and their operation. We will also cover how to get your rifle sighted-in on our range.


Youth Introduction to Target Shooting

Seminar Description:

Introducing a new class geared toward young men and women from ages 11-17 years. Youth Introduction to Target Shooting is a two hour class that will focus on gun handling, gun safety and the proper techniques in target shooting. Whether the student has experience in handling guns or not, we guarantee each student will learn and experience the exciting sport of target shooting.


Youth Intro to Target Shooting II

Seminar Description:

This class moves beyond the Intro class geared toward young men and women from ages 11-17 years who are ready for the next step in Target shooting. Youth II is a two hour class that review handling, handgun safety and the proper techniques in target shooting and introduce target shooting with the rifle. Semi-auto, lever action, pump-action rifle as well as the semi-auto handguns and revolvers are used in this class. All firearms and ammunition are provided for students by MFL.


NRA Personal Protection in the Home

Course Description:

This 11 hour NRA class is the first of the two part series of classes from the National Rifle Association. This class introduces knowledge and skills for using a firearm for self-defense. This class is for the new Shooter, as well as the experienced Shooter, who seeks information on proper shooting and self-defense as well as the legal aspects of using a firearm in a self-defense situation.


NRA Personal Protection Outside the Home

Course Description:

This 14 hour NRA class is the second of the two part series of classes from the National Rifle Association. This class advances knowledge and skills for using a firearm for self-defense. This class goes to the next level on lawful use of a firearm in self-defense established by the PPITH class. This class covers drawing from concealment, use of cover, retention shooting, dynamic movement, physical and psychological impact of an attack.



Advanced CCW Class
Prerequisites:

Students must have taken a mid-level class such as the NRA Personal Protection in the Home class or similar class that covers firearm safety, fundamentals of shooting and lawful Use of Deadly Force. Students should have a holster and know how to safely draw from that holster.

Certificate:

MFL 4 hour training Certificate will be issued upon Course Completion There is 2 hours of live-fire on the range in this class.

Seminar Description:

This 4 hour class covers the legal aspects of carrying a concealed handgun in today’s society. Both classroom and range time will educate and challenge a students understanding of the physical and legal dynamics that may be critical to a citizen's exercising their lawful use of a firearm in self-defense.


Practical Handgun Clinic
Prerequisites:

MFL BP or PPITH or similar class by a certified instructor

Certificate:

MFL 16 hour Certificate after completing 4 of these PHC clinics (5th one is free)

Course Description:

This 4 hour clinic is all range time, where our time is spent building skills with the student's handgun. This clinic covers firearm safety, critiquing the fundamentals, drawing from a holster, reloading, malfunction-clearing and engaging reactive targets.


Advanced Practical Handgun Clinic
Prerequisites:

MFL PHC or similar class by a certified instructor.

Certificate:

MFL 16 hour Certificate after completing 4 of these AHC clinics (5th one is free)

There is 4 hours of live-fire on the range in this class.

Course Description:

This 4 hour clinic adds to the skill set of the PHC and adds stress-management to the process of using your firearm safely, responsibly and effectively.


MFL Residential Rifle Clinic

MFL 16 hour Certificate after completing 4 of these RRC clinics (5th one is free)

There is 4 hours of live-fire on the range in this class.

Course Description:

This 4 hour clinic is all range time working with your tactical rifle for realistic urban environment. We will cover sight adjustment, calculating, offset, safety administration, moving and shooting, team tactics and communication. Optics and slings recommended but not required. .


Private Firearm Lessons / Instruction
Prerequisites:

Open to All: New shooters starting out have four options.

  • Take our Personal Protection in the Home class

Private lessons with our Master Instructor

are offered to those individuals who feel their security is at risk, or are a professional who needs help in meeting are in particular performance level, or have already been a student of one of our classes and seek to expand beyond the scope of what we offer in our other classes.

Private lessons with our Range Staff

are open to everyone who wants that one-on-one help on the firing line.


NH Firearms Certification / LEOSA Class
Certificate:

Students, upon passing the qualifier, will receive a completed Firearms Proficiency Certification Form

Course Description:

As per NH RSA 106-F:8c, all State Armed Guards / Private Investigators are required to attend 4 hours of instruction to include firearms techniques and safety, laws on the use of deadly force, and the moral and ethical use of force. They must also pass the State Firearms Proficiency live fire test.



13 Drills
Course Description:

This is the second day, 3 hours shooting portion of the PPOTH class. If students have already taken the PPOTH, they may take just the second day of shooting again. Armed Professionals (Armed Guards, Private Investigators, Court Officers and Bail Enforcement Officers) and others who have taken advanced training are eligible to take this class. Confirm with the Instructor as to your eligibility. These drills sharpen the skills advance level students need to maintain.


CCW's Role in an Active Shooter Situation
Prerequisites:

NRA PPOTH, MFL PHC or Advanced CCW class.

MFLCRASS 4 hour training Certificate will be issued upon Course Completion There is 2 hours of live-fire on the range in this class.

Course Description:

This 4 Hour class deals solely with the armed citizen caught in an Active Shooter situation. This class cover the dynamics and options for those armed individuals who find themselves in a position of possibly helping to protect innocent lives. Tactics and strategies that one could deploy are covered as well as range drills that test the individuals skills and judgement.


Protecting Houses of Worship Seminar
Prerequisites:

None.

None. There is no-live fire in this seminar.

Course Description:

This is a free 1 to 2 Hour seminar that is offered to Houses of Worship. The Seminar covers how to setup a security team and the roles and responsibilities involved having a proactive response to the increase threats against a religious institution.
The Seminar will be held at MFL or on site for local sites.



Armed with knowledge - Understanding firearm and self-defense law

Course Description:

This 2 1/2-hour non-shooting class covers laws about buying, carrying and transporting firearms in New England and other states, a citizen's rights to lawful self-defense, when and what level of force is appropriate, the legal system and how it could effect you, what a prosecutor might consider when reviewing a case against you, civil cases that may be filed and examining several criminal cases involving self-defense..
